About me

I’m Eric and I’m 30. I’m a writer and an optimist.

Louis C. K. says an optimist is an idiot. He might be right about that. But an optimist doesn’t have blinders to bad things around them. They instead focus on what is good. To an optimist, challenges register enthusiasm and curiosity outstrips skepticism. There is something exciting to say about every client, no matter how dull, and I love finding it and saying it.

I’m 30. Just a fact. I go to bed about 2 hours earlier than when I was 28. At that rate I will be going to bed alarmingly early in 10 years.

Being a writer is a little new to me. Before, I was just known for telling a good story and using a lot of big words. I grew up listening to books on tape and still do. This is the only piece of advice I ever give new parents: please do that for your kids. Listening to carefully constructed sentences as regular spoken word helps you sound pretty smart when it is your turn to talk. Possible side effects may include terrible spelling.

When you want to stand out from the noise of advertising that assails people at every turn, you have to be bold. Break the filter of skepticism and apathy that cocoon us at most hours of the day and do something unexpected. Do that and you are bound to move some units.
